Fami and Skyward: innovation beyond technology

Fami and Skyward join forces to bring precision, efficiency, and innovation to complex technological challenges.

Skyward Experimental Rocketry is a non-profit student association at the Polytechnic University of Milan, bringing together more than 170 members.

Originally founded in 2011 as ASMA Aeronautics and Space Manufacturing Association for Experimental Rocketry within a European Space Agency project, the organization was officially established under its current name in 2012 with the mission of designing, building, and launching experimental sounding rockets.

As Italy’s first university rocketry team dedicated to rocket design and development, Skyward has achieved several important milestones over the years, including a national altitude record of 1,500 meters, reached in Roccaraso in 2021.

The team also competes annually in the European Rocketry Challenge (EuRoC), where university teams showcase and test independently developed rocket projects.

Skyward provides students with the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in a hands-on, structured environment.

Operating in full compliance with industry regulations, the association collaborates with companies, universities, and science communication initiatives, fostering innovation, engineering excellence, and practical experience in the aerospace sector.
